Human Computer Interaction

Contact:

The IEHF Human Computer Interaction (HCI) SIG aims to bring together people from ergonomics with an interest in how interactive technology is designed and used. We look at the overall user experience of digital products, including their form, behaviour, and content. We take a holistic, multidisciplinary approach, with members’ interests spanning interaction design, information architecture, visual design, industrial design and user-centred design.

The SIG aims to:

  • Serve as a community for members of the Institute with an interest in HCI and user experience
  • Organise events to bring together HCI researchers and practitioners
  • Build links between the Institute and other related interest groups and societies
  • Assist people approaching the Institute with enquiries related to HCI or user experience

Our primary meeting is Create, an annual conference on designing innovative interactions. In most years this is held at the BCS London offices in Covent Garden, and consists of a full programme of presentations with keynote speakers, a design showcase event and evening reception. See www.create-conference.org for further details.
